Description
We are pleased to introduce the Samsung SD cards as an affordable third party storage alternative Compatible with all Blackvue & Thinkware Dash Cams.
Key Compatibility & Technical Considerations
-
Performance & Endurance: The Samsung series (UHS-I, U3, V30) offers fast read/write speeds and high durability, handling continuous loop-recording environments well. However, dash cams place heavy, constant write stress on memory cards compared to standard consumer electronics (like phones or drones).
-
Official support notes that third-party cards can occasionally cause random reboots or frame drops if they fall out of spec or degrade prematurely under extreme cabin temperatures.
-
Formatting Requirements:
-
Older or mid-generation models require cards to be formatted properly (typically FAT32 or MS-DOS(FAT)).
-
Using the Viewer program on Windows or macOS is recommended to format third-party cards.
-
Newer models (such as the DR770X, DR970X Plus, and Elite Series lineups) will often automatically format third-party cards upon first insertion.
-
-
Capacity Limits: Ensure the capacity of the Samsung PRO Plus card (whether 128GB, 256GB, 512GB, or 1TB) matches the maximum supported specification for your specific dash cam model and firmware version.

4 Reasons Why You Need A Dash Cam
Evidence in case of Car Accident
In the unfortunate event of a car accident, having a dash cam installed ensures that everything is captured on video, allowing you to defend yourself and provide crucial evidence to prove it wasn't your fault, especially if the case goes to court.
Fraud/ Theif Prevention
In today's world, where insurance fraud is increasingly common, some drivers deliberately cause accidents to extort money from others. By installing a dash cam in your car, you can record all events, preventing scammers from falsely blaming you, and also deter thieves who may avoid targeting a vehicle that is visibly monitored.
Parking Accidents
Parking can be tricky for novice drivers, leading to accidental scratches on other vehicles. New dash cams with 'parking mode' act as surveillance when your car is parked, providing video evidence if another driver damages your car and drives away.
Unexpected Events
A dash cam can capture unexpected events, like a rockslide damaging your car, a kangaroo jumping onto the road, or a neighbour's tree falling during a storm. By storing these events on your dash cam, you can show your insurance company the exact cause of damage, potentially saving yourself from a surcharge.
