BlackVue External GPS Module — Add GPS to Your BlackVue Dash Cam
The BlackVue GPS module is a genuine plug-in accessory that adds GPS location and speed recording to compatible BlackVue dash cams that don't have GPS built in. Once connected, your camera overlays real-time speed data onto your footage and logs your route, which you can review on a Google Maps overlay in the BlackVue PC or Mac Viewer software.

- BlackVue DR470-2CH
- BlackVue DR490-2CH
- BlackVue DR430-2CH
Important compatibility note: this module uses a stereo jack (pin) connector and is not compatible with the DR590X series, which requires a different GPS antenna (USB connector). If you have a DR590X model, please contact us to confirm the correct module for your camera.
Most current BlackVue models (DR770X, DR970X, Elite series) have GPS built in and do not require an external module.
Viewing Your GPS Data
Once the module is connected and your camera has recorded footage, GPS data is reviewed using the free BlackVue Viewer app on PC or Mac. The Viewer displays your route on a Google Maps overlay in sync with your video, with speed data shown in real time alongside the footage. The same data is also accessible via the BlackVue mobile app on iOS and Android.
