4K UHD Front, Full HD Rear

The front camera shoots true 4K UHD at 3840x2160 at 30fps using an 8.4 megapixel Sony STARVIS 2 CMOS sensor — four times the pixel count of Full HD, with enough resolution to read number plates clearly at distance and zoom in on detail in post without losing clarity. The 146 degree diagonal viewing angle and 125 degree horizontal coverage capture the full road scene including adjacent lanes.

The camera also has a high-temperature cutoff at approximately 80°C that shuts it down safely before any damage occurs.

Format-Free Recording

The DR970X Plus II uses BlackVue's adaptive format-free file management system, which eliminates the need to manually format the SD card on a regular schedule.
